Newman, highly strung, lives in Stratford.
As far back as he can remember, which is not very, Newman gets turned on at every opportunity following an unfortunate accident when his circuitory - he spontaneously merged with his amp one day. The details are hazy but so was his state at the time from smoking to many rolled-up cigarettes made with Ye Olde Holeyburne tobacco he had been left two hundred years previous.
Newman bought his first guitar from an air shop called Shanks, off the Tottenham Court road and he has not stopped playing since. For some reason he loves groupies and the word "no" seems to have eluded him. His inspiration is Steve Cry, Frank Zipper, Eddy Gone Hailing, Derrick von Clapton, and Jim. E. Appendix. He has played along with bands like Poo, Rolling Bones, Dusted, and E2.
Newman is finishing his first solo album. Reflecting on the experience he says, "I've really enjoyed playing with myself for a year". His electricity bill is rumored to run into thousand of old pounds. He can be annoying in power cuts. In a gig he freezes and has to start from the beginning again - some of his riffs can last over twenty minutes.
Newman will not open a bank account but keeps all his filthy lucre under his bed. Very few cafes still take old money - hence his skinniness particularly in the legs.
